The Lack of Continuity in the Elamite Tradition
The surviving source material is sporadic. There's clearly continuity, we just can't trace it in a line consistently over time. So with the Elamites, and you'll see this even in the Mesopotamian or the tradition, some periods are very richly documented. They're fairly well known. And then you have, I don't like to use the word dark age anymore, but you have gaps where they're going to say this is just a blank slate. With a few exceptions outside of the city of Sousa, it's hard to track it consistently overTime.
