The Importance of Being a Leader
For many years, I found myself bouncing between competing models of a hard-bitten taskmaster and a nurturing father figure. You know, there's a quote of yours that I read in an article about you: "I was still figuring out what kind of leader I wanted to be" And then about the time I was a captain and, you know, I had between six and ten years of service, I became very centralized. That was probably when I started shifting my style pretty significantly.
