Playing God

Playing god is about the idea that a deity directs events. And if we take control and direct events, we're taking over the role of the deity,. That's the way the phrase tends to be used in the united states. There are other kinds of religions, i'm thinking now about judaism and islam, where you have a much different notion of god as may be the initial force to creating a universe. But it is still fundamentally a very different view.
