Home work has little to no value in learning k through 12, pretty much. But what it does have value for is helping kids become self regulated. So it teaches them a process to study. For older students, leave your notes at school and then go and try to recreate the notes. Then the next day when you come back, then you reflect on that. You look at and say, what did i remember that i was able to write down on my notes from ats at home, versus what i wrote down at school? It has to be done relatively immediately in the classroom.
