Erlang Is a Language Much Older Than Elixir
Erlang is a language much older than Elixir and regarding the second part of your quest so now I'm really not sure that's that's going to be a good bet maybe it's better if you learned Scala or some other language. You can learn a bit from oh along does this this this way and Elixir that other way but I don't have scientific evidence that if you learn Erlang it's going to help you with Elixir and vice versa. It's probably helpful to at least be able to read Erlang which arguably is not that hard especially because the concepts you need to be familiar with are pattern matching and the likes which you already learn from Elixir.
