The Tension Between Drinking From the Well and the Rich Thing
I've been very struck for instance by not a large number of people, but people I think I was being very intelligent thinking people who for instance converted to Catholicism. What has struck me most is they have gone to the most traditional form of that. There is a sense which is deeply rooted in Jesus himself going and eating with sinners doing things that nobody was expecting a messiah a prophet to do breaking social taboos. It's because of a belief in the goodness of God's creation that actually these people out there are created by God, God loves them and I am called to love them as well. And so there's this tension the whole time between that wonderful rich thing as you say drinking
