Elsie Siegel's body was found in a trunk on the top floor of an eighth avenue apartment. The theory is that Ling had discovered Siegel's infatuation with another chop sui house per pryder. It really focused critical attention on Chinese restaurants and it gave rise to a movement to regulate them. So the Elsie Siegel murder really is the turning point that leads the unions.
