The Stalling of a Static Piano
This is taken from the proms from 19 85, when john holmestrom forced to invent a new type of sporting commentary based around a static piano. The platform looks much as it did when i last looked at it. But er the piano doesn't seem to have made much progress and doesn't appear able to make quite the leap on to the platform we were expecting of a nice, skittish, young piano. Ahi'm not quite sure how it can be lured up there. Think i'm going to tell you something about tonnight's conductor, david atherton. He's one wide a claim for his interpretations of twentieth century musi glancing nervously at the piano
