Using Game Theory for Self-Improvement
In the case of taxes, a little bit of sequential game. The issue is in terms of randomness, do I care if the other side knows what I'm doing? If I move in a way that I don't want other people to anticipate what it is that I'm doing, that's typically the case where a random strategy is a good idea. And so two colleagues of mine here at Yale, Dean Carlin and Ian Ayers, started a website called stickstikk.com. It allows you to make commitments against yourself or contracts against yourself.
