The History of the Flamethrower
In the field battle, flamethrowers weren't always great weapons. They were mostly used in battles like Iwo Jima to clear out caves and bunkers. A single bullet to a flamethrower tank usually caused the operator to explode in a ball of napalm and flame. Those who didn't asphyxiate in the cave when they tried running further in to escape the flames ran out of the cave as burning torches.
