The Politics of TPP

There was bipartisan opposition during that year among presidential candidates and no support. I have a feeling that if you talk to members of Congress right now of either party, there would be probably more support for going back to TPP than the administration thinks. The left wing has deemed it to be costing jobs and hurting American workers. That's why they opposed it in 2016. They still oppose it. Go talk to them. We've talked to them. And the administration just does not want to have that intra party debate. Again, it was bitter the last time. And all the signs are frankly, it'll be bitter again this time.
