The Puzzle Pieces of Sleep

There are some good ideas about why we sleep. We know that sleep is needed for us to consolidate memories and to recuperate into that, just to have proper function of our bodies. But the full biology of it is still being unraveled. There's a molecule in the brain called a denocene which builds up when people stay awake for a long time. And there are little enzymatic modifications and, and changes in receptors and synapses all over the brain, which are part of sleepiness too.
