When I first read your story a couple of months ago, what immediately came to my mind was a YouTube video called the still face experiment. In this girl's desperation, like what you write is that you begged. You remember following Mom around the house begging for her to speak with me and then calling out Mama through tears. It's also like such a worthless place for me. As a parent, it's intolerable to watch that.
