The Call of the Wilds is just a highly, highly inaccurate book. It contributes so much to the alpha myth of dogs establishing authority over each other through violence. That's not actually how they work together. You know, that's not how you become a lead dog by killing the other dogs. Like, this is not a thing. Chris absolutely saw Alaska as a symbol.
