Androgen receptor content increases with resistance training and is correlated with muscle protein synthesis. There's a little bit of a feedback mechanism, the nature of which i'm not entirely sure, but that you can only get so much androgen receptor. The deficiency end is interesting, and i can see the clinical case for treating hypogonatl men if they have low test ostrone or kids with classic hypopotuteriism.
