Identity Politics

I think we can talk further about the struggles that we're seeing in social media and struggles among movements. I'm just not sure identity politics is the term that can describe those struggles. And I also think that it's a way of not listening. It's like call it identity politics and then you don't have to listen because you've got your category already, you put it in that category, you don't having to listen to what folks are saying. So now worries me. We say the same thing about culture wars? Well the thing about culture, if we have a movement for black lives on the streets, is that about black identity or is it about racial justice?"
