Why Contribute to Open Source?

Python is also a different place now than it was 20 years ago, so there isn't just all these low hanging fruit. There's some great code out there to read and learn and understand how it works. And then once again, as Carlton pointed out the community, right? I've been doing this for 20 years. I have friends that I have made since he started being a core developer that are still friends today who I still look forward to seeing every year at usually Python US or any other conference that run into them.
