The Importance of Reading in Academic Writing
I find it really amazing that what you've just told me about sort of your progress through this this perennial topic of yours of talking about writing and the importance of writing. Helen, I have been thinking now for some time myself about this connection between reading and writing but there is just as much a deficit of that going on in academia as there is in the writing end. A clearly written sentence about a complex idea is a joyful experience to read It's a reciprocal relationship so if we write with pleasure we give our readers an opportunity to do the same.
