The Role of the Government in Diversifying Vaccine Companies
The social value of a vaccine is in the trillions and the private value is in the billions. The market itself, the signal that the private market would be needed for that to be done just by the pharmaceutical companies, is not sufficient in your view. You know, if we could do something even a little bit more radical, like, give these vaccine companies options in the S&P 500, you know, that would internalize some of these externalities. I don't think we're quite there yet.
