The level of dopomine rose to a certain threshold in the fluid filled space around nurons right before the movement occurred. Dopemin was a major component of the signal that told the mice exactly when to move, but other neuro modulators and neural activity still need to be investigated. It could help explain why patients with parkinson's disease have trouble initiating movements with proper timing.
