He says we are heading toward disaster in the absence of substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. Richard Somerville: We have our hands on the thermostat that controls the climate of our children and grandchildren. Bill Gates demonstrated bold leadership last year when he announced it was divesting of fossil fuel holdings. Helping the world confront climate change should be an important part of their legacy.
