The Household Relational Metaphors in Isaiah
One of the central concerns of Isaiah is to present Israel with a choice. And so Zion is portrayed as a daughter, I think, as God's daughter. So he eventually will come to her rescue as her parent. There do seem to be certain gendered assumptions built into these metaphors.
