The Little Mermaid in Copenhagen
This is a Disney movie where the songs actually progress the story. It really is a Herculean feat to figure out how to retool this. I kind of believe, and here's my theory, that you needed the hip Hollywood Eisner to bring back Disney animation because pairing Ashman and Menken to this project allowed it to be subversive and cool and different. Like they were hot and they brought that energy in.
