Stuka Pilots - Dropped Helmet Malco

One of the things that I noticed about, particularly the Stuka pilots was that they were perhaps rather more politically motivated than your average bomber or fighter pilot. They could volunteer but you still had to pass a very, very rigorous training test. The accuracy of this aeroplane as a weapon also shows another thing, if you look at the targets that were attacked in the Battle of Britain,. none of the bombs fell outside the airfield... So it was from that point of view, it's very effective.
