The AHA Guidelines for Historical Scholarship

There is no versus in this document. We are not trying to say something is better than something else, nor are we saying that everybody should do the sorts of things that we're saying ought to be considered scholarship. Many were concerned about how they would be able to implement it. It's already difficult to get peer reviewers who could do post hoc peer review on these different kinds of work. The social media response has been quite positive.
