Hackers got into the email system of some police department. They used that apparently legitimate looking emal address to send one of these emergency data requests, e d rs,. To whatever company they wanted to get somebody's date on. This is an nd run around any security that might be there, right? So doesn't matter how secure that data is. This is a social engineering attack. There are really going to be cases where someone needs data right now and i don't have time to get a warrant, or something bad 's going to happen.
