The Horror Movie Without a Man in a Suit
There's an awe and a reverence for the creature that is very interesting, both on the part of the movie and of the characters. That was Carpenter's, like, single biggest sort of mantra with this movie: Is it possible to make a horror movie without a man in a suit? I think their intent was to do something different than what Guillermo del Toro often does -- which is tinker over everything.
