The Take of the Knee
People accused the taking of the knee as politicising football, didn't they? They did. But I saw it as an act against discrimination inequality. What I was concerned about when they didn't stop is that we'd gone back to doing what we did before which wasn't acceptable and wasn't enough. So for me, I've highlighted it again in the book. I can't football come together, the four or five different organisations that exist within football under one banner with one campaign... There's a way forward where football can not just set the tone but can be the benchmark of how we deal with it in society. It should be taught in schools. Our children need to know about these
