This week on Words and Numbers, we look at the unintended consequences of payday lending. Payday lenders are small shops that will loan you money for a short period of time well until your next paycheck comes along. The interest they charge is remarkably high as you can understand. And so what do you do now? If you're one of these people who need a hundred bucks to make it through the next two weeks, there are no payday lenders. You could forego making your credit card payment to save up a little bit of money.
