The epocle model writes the idea of having data that's immutable, and then separate from that some kind of relatively simple reference to that data. I think it's a minority right of web and service inter faces that expose that and do it well. When those inter faces are well designed, that can have an effect on the nearby systems. And i think there's huge leverage there to thinking about things that way.
