The Role of Alpha Oscillations in Cognitive Activity
The field has agreed on calling brain activity that is rhythmic and cycles in an disorderly fashion between, say, eight cycles per second to about maybe 12, 13 cycles per second. So by all, by all accounts, I think everybody would agree that alpha activity is oscillatory. And it's shifted people nowadays, if they want to study neural oscillations or make a case for the involvement of neural oscillations in a cognitive process, this has shifted them first have to show that they're actually talking about oscillatory activity.
