There's another really interesting thread in the piece around the empire and pride around the empire 100 years ago versus shame now. imperial identity, fewer Scott or Welsh as you write, was at a certain time kind of attached you to this great global power. So it's more often seen as a source of shame because of the abuses of British imperialism. And then if you're, you know, Scott or Welsh now, you would like to kind of free yourself of that legacy,. which I found a really interesting force that is kind of reinforcing some of these identity changes.
