Do We Need Police to Do Traffic Stops?
John Avlon: It's not at all clear to me why police should be our first line of response for things is low level as an expired registration or a broken tail light. He says once they've got you stopped, there's really not much left of the Fourth Amendment. Avlon: This all falls under the heading of a fishing expedition and a tremendous amount of people that enter our criminal justice system do so as a result of traffic stops.
