Is Apple Right to Hold Out on RCS Support?

Google has been ramping up pressure on apple to add support for r c s, which is a new texting standard backed by goule and many of the wireless carriers. Apple so far has not found these arguments particularly persuasive. The current policy, all it really does is drive people to use cross platform messaging systems like watsap instead. So really, they are losing either way, so they might as well make things better for the users.
