If you couple it with progressive enhancement again, that might be good enough. You'll get the multi-page behavior but you'll never block for more than 50 milliseconds. If I'm also able to slice the hydration in a way that hydrates the page that's a sort of in strips going from top to bottom, then you also gain the interactivity of the parts that you're already seeing. But that's potentially more difficult because it assumes that the react components are exactly properly ordered and stuff like that.
