Primates and the Larynx

The larynx is the part of your throat where the vocal chords are housed. It has often been thought that, yet, we must have a highly developed larynx to match our speech. In fact there are many similarities between our larynx and the larynxs of other primatesthe we are quite similar. We're passing air over the vocal chords to make different souds, and we're shaping the sounds with our mouth. That's pretty much commonplace for most vocal chord using animals.
