The Universality of Islam
Erkyw: Islam is long to be in a strange kind of way very universal. I think that's the thing that's least understood about Islam in the West. The mosque in Senegal looks completely unlike a mosque in Sumatra for instance, he says. Erkyw: If it were better understood would help Muslims to integrate and perhaps even enrich local narratives rather than challenge or deconstruct them.
