Kobayashi's Sugumo in a Hidden Life
Kobayashi is almost suggesting Sugumo did win in the sense that he is the only honorable one to kind of come out of the whole story besides maybe also moto me. The movie doesn't really make an explicit statement on that but to what extent the school or the samurai clan itself has been affected by Tugumo basically exposing the facade. Now all those everyone he fought in that sequence there everyone that was witnessed that they kind of know in their hearts that it's not that it's all a lieBasically even though by all outward appearances they are still this highly praised highly revered samurai clan.
