Genesis 1: A Book Introduction

Genesis is not only the first book of the Bible but it really is the foundational book of the scriptures. For me when I read especially the first three chapters of Genesis I see embedded within these chapters basically the whole biblical story. So in some ways what you have after Genesis 3 is just kind of an elaboration on what you already have in the opening chapters. It's a book about beginnings to be sure but it's also a book about endings because already in Genesis we have the foreshadowed what we have pictured for us in Revelation.
