CHAPTER

Food Addiction

In two thousand and nine we developed the yale food adiction scale when i was in my ph g. Programme with my advisers, will corbin and kelly brownel. And from that scale, we can kind of estimate a similar diagnostic profile for what would look like a clinical level of a dictive pole to these foods. A meta analysis that came out in children in adolescence found that about 12 % of children were showing signs of this clinical level of food addiction. That's way past what we would see with something like alcohol or cigarettes or cannabus because kids are not really getting exposed to those products until typically adolescents, early adulthood.
