John Brown was a fierce opponent of slavery. He was hung in 1859 after seizing an armory at Harper's Ferry, Virginia. The answer to that question is Black Lives Matter. You were not taught about John Brown on purpose because if you teach people really seriously the Civil War would be re-written. There's so much to be grateful for that we didn't even know to be gratitude for.
