What Happened in East Palestine, Ohio?

A freight train derailed in East Palestine, Ohio and sent 38 cars off the tracks. 11 of those cars were carrying hazardous chemicals which set a fire that local firefighters struggled to put out. Officials evacuated almost the entire town and did a controlled release of the chemicals into a trench and then burnt it off. And so all of the dramatic images that you've been seeing out of East Palestine for the last, what, two weeks of the big black clouds came from that controlled burn.
