The Importance of Apology
In an apology, it's not enough to just have been wrong. I'm sorry is empathizing plus doing something else. When I when I am apologizing to you, it's when I did the bad thing, right? And so I both have to say I'm sorry in the sense of I'm empathizing with you. The bit that we're missing there is the empathy that is, are you really feeling the suffering that the victim of your wrongdoing is undergoing?
