China's High-Speed Railway Program - Localized Bargaining

The first train in China was built back in the 19th century, but high-speed railway is a much more recent thing. By the end of last year, now the total length of the railway network has grown to 40,000 kilometers. That's more than twice the length of any other country's high-speed rail combined. In terms of investment, based on my calculation from China Railway Yearbook, the total investment amounts to 10 trillion RMB or 1.5 trillion US dollars.
