Adrian Hernründgen's discovery was picked up by an Austrian paper in Vienna and within the space of 48 hours it had made front page news around the world. In those days it was simple apparatus with people just doing it in their own private laboratories. Adrian why do you think it had this appeal? I think it's that the person in the nature of the discovery showing something which to all intents and purposes is astonishing and unbelievable. The crooks tubes are available in most scientific laboratories even schools.
