Listen to authentic English podcasts like Luke's English podcast, for example. Read a lot of magazine and newspaper articles. Try and find new ways of remembering words. You may need to add mnemonic techniques connecting the word to something you already know,. Doesn't it sound like something dropping into water from height? Plunge.
