The ten commandments of Christ are what we have in our final version here. So as it is written in the book of the prophets, this is what he will come to do. Number one, to take away the sins of the world. He is coming as a Savior after all. And his chief mission, since our chief stumbling block is our own sinfulness, who can go down? Down literally condescends to the level of sinners and take those sins away from them. No wonder Luke would love that. The heathen nations, the outsiders. Who can bring them in?
