The Importance of Community History in the Middle East

There is a real lack of scholarship on the period that I studied for Iraqi historiography in general, not only the Assyrian community. There's generally less work on the earlier public period, the 1960s and the 1980s. And then we also focus on the Balthus period, especially the 1980s and 1990s. The police records I have for the communist chapter all come from the Iraqi National Library and Archives. Work with non-Western, non-British sources, I really wanted to include Iraqi material.
