You need a multi-expert team to try and crack these diseases. We have immunologists who have not ever worked on dementia before, but we need that level of expertise. One exciting avenue you're exploring at the moment is stem cell research. You are hoping to produce about 100 of these stem cells. Then other researchers and ourselves can translate it into microglia. These are immune cells that we know are really, really important in Alzheimer's and other types of cells. That we know are part of the disease process. If we can understand the mechanisms, we can try and treat these.
