Bic coin is not an, it was not an original concept in the cryptography universe. It was very much a combination of these sort of failed attempts at a digital currency. The community of people cypher punks were really actively working on creating a free internet in the early nineties. They saw the potential of the internet, but they also saw a danger in the internet. And so they wanted to use cryptography to make the internet free.
